Dear Friends,

Our 40‑day Shani Mantra Japa Anushthan is about to begin, and Pandit Yogesh has prepared a complete set of sacred services to support every member of the group. This message explains what will happen, why each step is spiritually important, and how you may offer donations to support the temple and the rituals being performed on your behalf.

What We Are Beginning Together

All members of the group will be entering a 40‑day Anushthan—a disciplined spiritual practice dedicated to Lord Shani Dev, the great teacher of karma, discipline, truth, and inner strength. This collective practice is considered highly auspicious and is known to:

  • Generate positive energy

  • Deepen spiritual awareness

  • Bring material peace, stability, and protection

  • Strengthen one’s relationship with Shani Dev

This is a rare opportunity to participate in a traditional Saturn sādhanā performed with purity, devotion, and proper Vedic procedure.

Sacred Services Offered by Pandit Yogesh

1. Sankalp (Opening Vow) on Behalf of All Participants

On the first day, Pandit‑ji will take a sankalp—a formal vow—on behalf of every member of the group. Sankalp means setting a clear intention before the deity, declaring that the entire 40‑day practice is dedicated to Lord Shani Dev for the wellbeing of all participants.

2. Offering Shani Dev His Beloved Items

Pandit‑ji will make traditional offerings to Shani Dev, including items such as sesame oil, black sesame seeds, blue or black cloth, and other sacred materials associated with Saturn. These offerings help invoke Shani Dev’s blessings and protection.

3. Lighting a Lamp for Each Participant

A separate lamp will be lit in the name of each member. Lighting a lamp for Shani Dev symbolizes removing darkness, fear, and obstacles, and inviting clarity, discipline, and divine guidance.

4. Yagya at the Completion of the Anushthan

At the end of the 40 days, Pandit‑ji will perform a yagya—a fire ceremony dedicated to Shani Dev. A yagya purifies the environment, strengthens the fruits of the mantra practice, and offers the collective energy of the group back to the deity.

5. Bhandara at the Temple in Chandigarh

We are also arranging to host a Bhandara at the Chandigarh Temple. A bhandara is a simple and beautiful tradition. It is a community meal offered in the name of the deity, where food is prepared and shared as an act of devotion and generosity.

5. Sharing Darshan Videos

Throughout the process, Pandit‑ji will share short videos so everyone can have darshan (a sacred viewing) of Shani Dev and receive blessings, even from afar.

Why These Rituals Matter

In traditional practice, an Anushthan is most powerful when it includes three essential components:

  • Sankalp at the beginning – sets intention and invites divine support

  • Pujan in the middle – nourishes the practice and keeps the energy strong

  • Yagya and Bhandara at the end – completes the cycle and distributes blessings

This sequence ensures that the spiritual work is complete, balanced, and fully blessed.

Supporting the Temple & Ritual Services

We have established a GoFundMe site to thank Panditji as he guides us this year.

You can donate at https://gofund.me/cf43e2e6f .

All proceeds will be sent to Pandit Yogesh and to the Temple in Chandigarh.
